New York Giants star Malik Nabers didn’t hold back as he appeared to take aim at his own quarterback Sunday.
The wide receiver returned to action in Week 7 against divisional rival, the Philadelphia Eagles, after being sidelined with a concussion but he was held to a quiet game at MetLife Stadium.
The rookie hauled in just four receptions for a gain of 41 yards and zero touchdowns as the Giants slumped to a miserable 2-5 record in a 28-3 loss to the Eagles.
All of his stats came in the first half with his production coming to a screeching halt in the second half.
And when asked what changed, Nabers appeared to take a sly dig at his quarterback, Daniel Jones.

‘Watch the target tape. That was it. I was open,’ Nabers said in a postgame locker room interview.
Jones, who was handed a four-year, $160 million contract with $82 million guaranteed in 2023, has come under fire amid the Giants’ woeful start to the season.
Just last week, the signal caller was slammed by the Giants’ own fanbase after he failed to throw a single touchdown in a humiliating 17-7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
On Sunday, Jones was on the run throughout the game behind an offensive line that was missing starting left tackle Andrew Thomas.
He and backup Drew Lock, who replaced Jones in the fourth quarter, were sacked a combined total of eight times.
‘It was very difficult out there. We gotta do a better job of just making plays and protecting the quarterback and trying to do our best to score points,’ Nabers said. ‘Our defense was doing a hell of a job, playing a good game. But it’s hard when you’re going 3-and-out, and when they get back on the field, they’re tired.
‘We gotta give our defense some time to get some breathers, so when they get back out there, they’re still playing at a high level.’
Rookie sensation Nabers returned to the field Sunday after being sidelined with concussion
Sunday marked Nabers’ first appearance on the field since September 26 when he suffered a concussion against the Dallas Cowboys.
‘It was scary when I couldn’t remember what happened,’ Nabers said, according to ESPN . ‘I can’t remember the last play I was in, so yeah, it was kind of scary.
‘Last thing I remember was [Jones] throwing me the ball. That was it.’
Nabers added that he experienced headaches and throbbing in his head after the collision but did not specify any other symptoms. It’s believed to be his first known concussion.
