The New York Giants are expected to be without Tommy DeVito for their Thanksgiving clash with the Dallas Cowboys.
Drew Lock is slated to start under center for New York – for the first time this season – with DeVito suffering from a forearm problem.
According to NFL Network, DeVito – who recently replaced Daniel Jones – will test his arm during warm ups on Thursday but is likely to miss out.
The quarterback initially stayed behind in New York for an MRI scan and other tests on his forearm before joining his teammates in Texas.
It’s claimed that DeVito could still play in Thursday’s game, which kicks off at 4.30pm at AT&T Stadium.
The 26-year-old will throw ahead of the game. DeVito hurt his forearm after taking a number of big hits in Sunday’s 30-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It was the quarterback’s first start of the season, after the Giants benched and then released Jones following a dismal start to the 2024 season.
On Wednesday it emerged that Jones was signing with the Minnesota Vikings. He asked to be released by the Giants, who granted his request on Friday, bringing to an end a six-season stay in New York
The quarterback signed a four-year, $160 million contract in March 2023 but, after another miserable season he was benched in favor of DeVito.
Jones was demoted to the practice squad and even briefly lined up as a scout team safety. After securing his release, Jones cleared waivers on Monday, becoming an unrestricted free agent.
ESPN reported that he has agreed a one-year, $375,000 deal with the Vikings and will start life on the practice squad, meaning the quarterback could still join another team. He is still slated to become a free agent at the end of the 2024 season.
