Giants vs. Browns: Week 3 staff picks and predictions
The New York Giants (0-2) will take on the Cleveland Browns (1-1) this Sunday afternoon at Huntington Bank Stadium in their third game of the 2024 regular season.
Opening the week, the Giants were 6.5-point road underdogs and that spread hasn’t changed as of this writing.
How does the Giants Wire staff see this Week 3 battle shaking out? Here’s a look at our picks and score predictions:
Dan Benton: Browns 24, Giants 23
The Giants are looking more functional on offense and I expect that to continue against the Browns this Sunday, but the defense is set up to bend and break this time around. They got lucky a week ago with Washington committing multiple red zone penalties and that luck will run out against the Browns. Still, I anticipate a close game with the score going over and a last-second red zone field goal securing the Cleveland victory.
John Fennelly: Browns 20, Giants 16
It’s hard to pick the Giants to win, especially on the road. I do like them to cover the 6-point spread, however. This looks like another possible under game with both teams struggling to score. That’s just the reality with the Giants right now, until further notice.
Tyler Henry: Browns 28, Giants 23
I’m at the point where I can’t pick the Giants until they show me they can put it all together. In Week 1 they were a complete disaster. In Week 2, they were better and they showed they could be a functional offense. Unfortunately, their expected stronger unit, the defense, wasn’t able to put together a good enough performance. Head coach Brian Daboll didn’t help the case with the mismanagement of the kicker position.
Unfortunately, I’m expecting the Giants to drop their third straight and fall to 0-3 on the season.
Serena Burks: Browns 24, Giants 15
The Browns are an interesting match for the Giants, given all of the controversy surrounding Deshaun Watson. The biggest difference between the two teams is that the Browns figured out a way to win while the Giants are pleading their insanity case by trying the same tactics that continue to fail. Brian Daboll isn’t managing his players well, either, which isn’t helping. On the road, they are 6.5-point underdogs, but the score gap will be bigger than that.
Jeevan Kirkland: Browns 20, Giants 17
This is a battle of two anemic offenses. Daniel Jones looked better last week but there is still no reason for confidence that he will perform. On the other side of the ball, the defense has not been able to generate a pass rush and against a formidable Browns’ offensive line, they might face some serious trouble. Expect this one to be close but not a win for Big Blue.
