Health insurance remains the number one concern for small business owners in New York, according to the latest study by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). This issue has consistently topped the list since 1986, driven by the high costs associated with small group markets.

Advocates say that while health insurance is a national concern, New York businesses also rank taxes, unemployment insurance, and workers’ compensation as higher priorities compared to other states.
