Here are the special wagers for Belmont Stakes weekend
The New York Racing Association will offer a selection of special wagers during the four-day 2024 Belmont Stakes racing festival to be held from Thursday through Sunday at Saratoga.
Highlighted by the 156th edition of the $2 million Belmont Stakes on Saturday, the Belmont Stakes racing festival will include 24 stakes races with purses totaling $10.25 million, the highest purse levels and number of stakes offered since the launch of the multi-day festival in 2014.
An array of two-day wagers is highlighted by the all-dirt Pick 6, which will open on Friday and conclude with the Belmont Stakes on Saturday. The all-dirt Pick 6 will feature a $1 base and 15 percent takeout.
The all-turf, two-day Pick 5 will offer a 50-cent base and 15 percent takeout, and the two-day Pick 4 will see a $2 base with 24 percent takeout.
Two-day, all-dirt Pick 6
The two-day, all-dirt Pick 6 opens Friday and continues Saturday, ending with a mandatory force-out in the Belmont Stakes.
The sequence begins on Friday in race 12 with the Grade 1 Acorn and continues Saturday with the True North (G2) in race 4; the Suburban (G2) in race 6; the Woody Stephens (G1) in race 8; and the Metropolitan Handicap (G1) in race 10 before concluding with the Belmont Stakes in race 12.
Two-day, all-turf Pick 5
The two-day, all-turf Pick 5 opens with a pair of Grade 1 races on Friday in the Just a Game in race 10 and New York in race 11 and concludes Saturday with the Poker (G3) in race 5; the Jaipur (G1) in race 9; and the Manhattan (G1) in Race 11.
Two-day Pick 4
The two-day Pick 4 opens Thursday with the Belmont Gold Cup (G2) in race 10 and concludes Friday with the Intercontinental (G2) in race 9; the New York (G1) in race 11; and the Acorn in Race 12.
Other wagers
Each day of the four-day Belmont Stakes racing festival will feature an all-turf Triple Play Pick 3 wager with a $3 base, 19 percent takeout and mandatory payout.
There will also be six special double wagers on offer, each with a $5 base and 18.5 percent takeout. These begin Thursday with the Gold Cup–New York double along with five double wagers concluding on the Belmont Stakes day, beginning with either the New York, Acorn, Intercontinental, Just a Game or Met Mile.
The traditional $1 Pick 6 also will be offered on each day of the Belmont Stakes racing festival, including a $44,200 carryover on opening day Thursday that kicks off in race 5 with a post time of 3:01 p.m. EDT.
The Pick 6 on Saturday will feature six Grade 1 events, races 7–12, concluding with the Belmont Stakes.
Belmont Stakes Day will feature five Pick 5 wagers with all but the opening and late Pick 5 offering a mandatory payout. An additional middle Pick 5 wager with a mandatory payout will be offered on Thursday on races 3-7, and the Friday card will include two additional middle Pick 5s on races 3-7 and races 5-9 with mandatory payouts. Sunday’s 12-race card will feature a middle Pick 5 on races 5-9 on closing day of the four-day Belmont Stakes racing festival.
