How the Giants wound up with a surprising trio as their longest-tenured players
You want a new version of a reality show to pitch to whatever network or streaming service you prefer? How about this one:
Survivor: New York Giants Edition.
The premise of the show is clear: Make the roster and stay on the roster. Sign a contract and play well enough to sign a second contract. Be a Giants player long enough to put down roots, for fans to identify the player as a real New York Giant and not some guy who came and went, passing through without making enough of an impact to earn longevity.
To remain on the show, players must avoid getting injured, must keep up their performance on the field and manage their comportment off it. They must avoid controversy in what they say and what they post on social media. If at all possible, they must help their case to stay around by contributing to winning games and successful seasons, two ingredients that are time-tested enhancements for thriving in the long run with the same franchise.
