The Celtics are out to defend the NBA crown they won in dominant fashion, capping an league-best 64-18 regular season by going 16-3 in the playoffs and defeating the Dallas Mavericks in five games in the NBA Finals.
The Knicks finished 14 games back of the Celtics last season as the runners-up in the Eastern Conference regular-season race. After falling to the Indiana Pacers in the second round of the East Playoffs, they, too, made a huge offseason move sending forward Julius Randle to the Minnesota Timberwolves for star center Karl-Anthony Towns.
