It goes without saying, but the opening five weeks for the Bengals’ season has been very disappointing. With all the weapons this team has, there is no reason they should be sitting four games below .500 with the trade deadline looming. Their only win came against a lackluster Carolina Panthers squad in Week 4. While Joe Burrow and Cincinnati’s offense blew the lights out against the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday, they will came up short, losing 41-38 in overtime to Lamar Jackson and company. The Bengals need to start winning games to get back into the playoff conversation.
While the Giants are far from being playoff contenders, they at least have a better record than the Bengals heading into Sunday night. The team put up a tough effort against the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday. Daniel Jones threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns, while the defense came up clutch, with the special teams unit blocking a field goal and returning it for a touchdown to seal a 29-20 victory. It certainly is not a flashy team to boast about, but the Giants are trying to prove they are a tough team to beat.
This will be just the 12th meeting between the Bengals and Giants. Cincy is 6-5 against the G-Men, though the Giants have won the last two meetings, most recently in 2020.
MY PICK: Bengals win, 35-21
