NEW YORK — The Detroit Pistons have fallen on some hard times following a great run of basketball last month, and will look to snap their losing streak on Saturday night against the New York Knicks.

The Pistons were having a blast prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. They put themselves in a position to advance in the NBA Cup, and were hanging around the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. However, Detroit has gone on to lose three straight games, including one to the lowly Philadelphia 76ers and another to the Milwaukee Bucks in the in-season tournament group stage finale. Unfortunately for the Pistons, things did not get any easier when they had to face the second-best team in the conference, the Boston Celtics, on Wednesday night. Detroit did what it could to keep things close but ended up losing by a final score of 130-120.

Heading into Saturday night, the Pistons are 11th in the East, 1.5 games back of the Brooklyn Nets for eighth.

The Knicks are sitting in a much better position than Detroit. Following their win over the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday night, New York has reeled off four straight wins, moving them up the conference standings. They are currently fourth in the East, 5.5 games back of the Cleveland Cavaliers for first.

This is the second of four meetings this year between the Pistons and Knicks. New York won the first matchup in Detroit back on Nov. 1.
