How to Watch the Detroit Pistons vs. New York Knicks – NBA Summer League | Channel, Stream, Preview
The Detroit Pistons continue their Summer League slate on Friday when they take on the New York Knicks at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. Instead of playing at the Thomas and Mack Center, like most of the Summer League games, this game will take place at the Cox Pavilion.
Detroit overcame a 16-point deficit to pick up their second straight victory in Summer League play. Led by Jayce Johnson, the Pistons took control of the game down the stretch, going on a 20-2 run to seal the win.
Johnson finished with 19 points—13 of which came in the fourth quarter alone—and five rebounds. No. 5 overall pick Ron Holland struggled again with his shot, going 7-for-20 from the field and 1-for-4 from three-point range. However, he finished with 17 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.
Like Holland, second-year guard Marcus Sasser struggled with his shot throughout the first few games of Summer League play. Things were no different on Tuesday, as he finished 5-for-13 from the field. However, he did nail a trio of three-pointers. Sasser finished with 17 points, five steals, and three assists.
Friday’s game against the Knicks marks the final of four preliminary Summer League games for the Pistons. They’ve been guaranteed to play five total games, but the opponent for the final game has yet to be determined.
All 30 NBA teams are featured in the Summer League. The top four teams after four games will play in the semifinals on Jul. 21, with the championship game on Jul. 22. The other 26 teams will play a fifth game on either Jul. 20 or 21.
