Following a surprising run to the playoffs in 2022, including knocking out the Vikings in the Wild Card round, the Giants were brought back down to Earth last season. Whether it be with Daniel Jones or fan favorite Tommy DeVito at quarterback, the G-men’s offense was not at all great. Mix that in with a defense that was inconsistent, and New York found themselves hanging around the bottom of the NFC. Brian Daboll’s team has tried to bolster its roster in order to be more competitive this year, hoping to improve on a 6-11 campaign where the Giants finished third in the NFC East.
While the Vikings moved on from Kirk Cousins, they thought they were going to be a tough team to beat with rookie quarterback, and former Michigan star, JJ McCarthy. However, a season-ending injury suffered in the preseason by the national champion has set plans back a season. With how much deeper the NFC North has become over the last couple of seasons, it will be tough for Minnesota to stay in the playoff conversation, especially with Sam Darnold taking the snaps to begin the season.
The Vikings are 18-13 against the Giants, all-time.
MY PICK: Giants win, 24-17
