Despite the fact that the Giants and Cowboys have been duking it out since 1960, this will be just the third time the two franchises have met on Thanksgiving. Dallas won the first two matchups on the holiday, beating up New York in 1992 before outlasting them 28-20 two years ago.
Unfortunately, this year’s matchup does not mean much in terms of postseason ramifications. The Cowboys, even before losing franchise quarterback Dak Prescott for the rest of the season, have been terrible. They are offensively short with a defense that is inconsistent. Dallas did pull off a rather stunning win over the Washington Commanders this past Sunday, but they have yet to win at home this season.
The Giants have been miserable to watch this year. The Daniel Jones experience might be over, but the sever lack of talent is still there. Even with Tommy DeVito supposedly reigniting the fanbase, it is not going to deter the fact that this team from New Jersey is not good at all.
The Cowboys and Giants sit third and fourth in the NFC East.
The Cowboys, who have played the second-most games on Thanksgiving, are 33-22-1 all-time, while the Giants are 7-6-3 in their 16 appearances on the holiday.
Dallas is 76-47-2 against the Giants, having won each of the last seven matchups.
MY PICK: Giants win, 20-14
