‘If elected, will set Musk-led Govt Efficiency Commission’: Trump at the New York Economic Club

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he would enlist Elon Musk to run ‘Government Efficiency Commission’ if he wins a second term as the US President. Speaking to the Economic Club of New York, Trump said Elon Musk has agreed to head a task force to conduct a ‘complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government’ and make ‘recommendations for drastic reforms’. However, Trump’s speech to the New York Economic Club, was the first time he had publicly endorsed the idea. It was also the first time Trump said Musk had agreed to head the body. Trump also said it would develop a plan to eliminate ‘fraud and improper payments’ within six months of being formed.
