Jalen Brunson and wife Ali announce birth of couple’s first child after massive Knicks offseason
Jalen Brunson’s exciting offseason just got even more epic.
On Monday, the newly anointed Knicks captain and wife Ali Brunson announced the birth of their first child, who arrived on July 31.
In the black-and-white snap shared on Instagram, a baby can be seen holding what appears to be Brunson’s finger, with the NBA All-Star writing, “7/31/24 – Jordyn James Brunson,” along with pink heart emojis.
Ali, who married the 27-year-old Bruson in July 2023, shared a separate photo of the newborn with a similar caption.
She also included a pink heart emoji beside the text.
The news of the Brunson family’s newest addition comes about a month after the star point guard signed a four-year, $156.5 million contract extension with the Knicks, leaving $113 million on the table.
Brunson arrived in New York in July 2022 after spending the first four years of his NBA career with the Mavericks.
He is coming off his second postseason appearance with the Knicks, reaching Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals before losing to the Pacers.
Bruson averaged 28.7 points per game, 3.6 rebounds and 6.7 assists in 77 games last season.
He averaged 32.4 points in the postseason, along with 7.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds.
The Knicks open the 2024-25 season on Oct. 22 in Boston against the reigning NBA champion Celtics.
