Japanese apparel retailer Uniqlo will open its first Dallas-area stores in October, the company announced as it is prepping a trio of mall sites to introduce its popular threads.
Uniqlo’s Galleria Dallas store will open Oct. 18, followed by stores at the Parks at Arlington mall and Stonebriar Centre in Frisco on Oct. 25, the company said.
Uniqlo is executing a swift Texas move, opening an additional two stores in the Houston area — Memorial City Mall in Houston on Oct. 11 and First Colony Mall in Sugar Land on Oct. 18.
“We’re thrilled to bring UNIQLO to Dallas with the opening of our Galleria Dallas store on October 18,” Yoshihide Shindo, CEO of UNIQLO USA, said in a statement. “We’re eager to join the vibrant local community and look forward to bringing our high-quality, innovative LifeWear and exceptional retail experience to Dallas customers, along with a lineup of special moments to celebrate the opening.”
Even without brick-and-mortar stores, Texas is Uniqlo’s third largest e-commerce market following New York and California.
“We have seen positive customer demand” from Texas with strong interest from online shoppers, Shindo said in April.
With the new Uniqlo store, Galleria Dallas is looking forward to some major new attractions. Netflix will open its experiential Netflix House entertainment venue in 2025, one of the first two in the entire country. The 107,000-square-foot Netflix House is in a former Belk department store and will feature experiences based on some of the streaming giant’s major shows, such as Stranger Things, Squid Game and Bridgerton.
American Girl also moved its store from the Parks at Shop Lane to Galleria Dallas earlier this year.
