Jets cornerback Tae Hayes arrested for marijuana possession
Jets cornerback Tae Hayes was arrested early Sunday morning in Alabama on a charge of marijuana possession, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.
Hayes was booked and released after posting a $300 bond.
The Jets, contacted by The Post, offered the following statement: “We are aware of the situation and we will refrain from further comment, as it is a pending legal matter.”
Hayes, 26, is a well-traveled defensive back who played in one game for the Jets in 2023.
Undrafted in 2019 out of Appalachian State, Hayes spent time in some capacity with nine different NFL teams in five years and also won a USFL championship in 2022 with the Birmingham Stallions.
He has played in 14 NFL games, with no starts.
The Jets veterans report to training camp July 23 at their team facility in Florham Park, N.J.
