Jets fans mercilessly boo team, loudly chant ‘sell the team’ after nightmare first half

The Jets continue to find ways to hit new rock bottoms.

Their fans appear to be sick of it.

On Thursday night, after what was a brutal first half of “Thursday Night Football” at MetLife Stadium, fans loudly booed the team and were heard chanting “Sell the team” that was at a high enough decibel that it was captured clearly on the Prime Video broadcast.

Malachi Corley’s goal-line drop/fumble on what would’ve been an easy touchdown was the costly mistake that stood out, but the Jets seemed to be in an overall offensive malaise that led to them getting shut out after 30 minutes as they trailed the Texans, 7-0.

But fans seemed to get completely restless on the Jets’ final drive of the second quarter when Aaron Rodgers threw back-to-back incompletions in the directions of receiver Davante Adams.

The Jets totaled just 69 total yards of offense in the first half.

Houston, by comparison, had 201 yards.

But fortunately for the Jets, they managed to turn the fans’ ire into joy thanks to a strong second half in their 21-13 comeback victory which snapped a five-game losing streak.
