Jets favored in team-record 14 games after schedule release
Oddsmakers have a rosy outlook for the Jets after the NFL full schedule release this week.
Gang Green is favored in 14 of their 17 games at DraftKings Sportsbook, which is a record for the franchise dating back to 1960, according to sports betting analyst Ben Fawkes, via Sports Odds History.
The finding is yet another sign that the Jets may sniff the postseason for the first time since the 2010 season.
At 9.5 wins, the Jets have equaled their highest preseason over/under since 2011, when oddsmakers pinned their win total at 10.
They are -144 to make the playoffs, which are the sixth-best odds in the AFC.
In the AFC East, they’ll have to fend off a couple of teams — namely the Bills and Dolphins — who are expected to contend for a playoff berth.
They’re +200 at DraftKings, which is tied with the Dolphins for the second-best odds to win the division behind the Bills (+160).
The Jets will have perhaps their toughest test of the year right off the bat.
They’re massive underdogs in Week 1 against the NFC-favorite 49ers, who are huge 6.5-point favorites for the season-opening “Monday Night Football” matchup, with the Jets’ moneyline odds coming in at +230.
Their schedule gets much easier from there.
After Week 1, the Jets are favored by four points or more in each of their next four games before a Week 6 test against the Bills at home.

It isn’t until Week 14 against the Dolphins in Miami that the Jets are underdogs in their second game of the year.
Three weeks later in Buffalo, the Jets are 2.5-point underdogs against the Bills in the last game of the season that they currently aren’t favored.
