Jets permit Haason Reddick’s agents to contact teams regarding trade interest

“I don’t know if he’ll be able to do it, but if there’s anybody can make an argument and explain it to the player, I think Rosenhaus can do that,” Johnson said of a potential resolution. “He’s very very accomplished.”

Rosenhaus told NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo on Monday night before the Jets’ loss to the Bills at MetLife Stadium that the first goal was to work out a solution with New York.

With Reddick continuing his holdout and the fines racking up, it makes sense for all parties to at least see what’s available — if for no other reason than to assess the landscape before reconvening.

In a league that changes week-to-week — like the Lions losing Defensive Player of the Year candidate Aidan Hutchinson — allowing Rosenhaus rope to see what other teams might offer in terms of a trade and/or a contract could help frame the discussions moving forward.

The news of renewed trade interest for Reddick came as the Jets finalized a trade to acquire star receiver Davante Adams on Tuesday. A trade of Reddick could help the Jets recoup some of the draft assets they sent to Vegas to get the Adams deal done.
