Jets trade up, pick receiver Malachi Corley in third round of NFL draft

A night after adding protection for Aaron Rodgers, the Jets picked up a playmaker.

Corley was a slot receiver in college and likely will be for the Jets.

The 5-foot-10, 207-pounder had 259 receptions for 3,033 yards and 29 touchdowns for the Hilltoppers.

Corley is known as the “YAC King” because he averaged 9.2 yards after catch over the last two seasons.

The Jets moved up from pick No. 72 to No. 65, the first pick in the third round, in a trade with the Panthers to get Corley.

The Jets traded pick 157 in the fifth round along with No. 72 to Carolina in exchange for the 65th pick.
