Jets vs. 49ers live updates: New York-San Francisco game predictions, start time, how to watch and more

Aaron Rodgers had big expectations entering last season: help lead the New York Jets back to the playoffs and return to his MVP form. But all of that ended in a matter of four plays in the season opener as he tore his Achilles tendon and was out for the year.

When Rodgers went down, so did New York’s hopes of contention. This year, Jets fans hope a healthy star quarterback means they’ll be a contender for the Super Bowl.

The San Francisco 49ers will be a tough first test for Rodgers. San Francisco, also a title contender, boasts one of the best defensive lines in the league, featuring Nick Bosa and Javon Hargrave. It isn’t too shabby on the offensive side, either, with quarterback Brock Purdy and receivers Deeboo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk, who just signed a new deal to remain in San Francisco.

San Francisco announced today that star running back Christian McCaffrey would be inactive with a calf injury.
