The Jets vs. Patriots rivalry may look a bit different than it did in the Belichick and Parcells era, but these AFC East teams still bring it whenever they square off. Gang Green and Patriots Nation won’t have to wait long to face their divisional foes, as New York and New England will meet in the Week 3 edition of Thursday Night Football at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands.
Both teams will have a different quarterback under center than they did in Week 3 of 2023. The Jets, barring any setbacks, should have Aaron Rodgers back to full health after rehabbing the Achilles tear he suffered four snaps into his first season in New York. New England will have either reunited Patriot Jacoby Brissett or third-overall pick Drake Maye, either of which should be an upgrade over embattled former QB Mac Jones.
We know what to expect from four-time MVP Rodgers and an impressive Jets team — anything less than a playoff berth would rightly be considered a failure by most New Yorkers. We don’t, however, know what to expect from the Patriots in the first year of the franchise rebuild sans Bill Belichick. The first few weeks of action for Jerod Mayo and New England should make for some fascinating watches, especially Week 3 against a divisional foe in front of a tense MetLife crowd.

As this is a divisional rivalry and a primetime game, tickets have been selling quickly. At last check, a little over 100 tickets remained, many of which were going for just over $100 each.
This rivalry has quite a bit of history, with New England leading the all-time head-to-head series 74-55-1. New York trounced the Pats 17-3 when these teams last met in January, ending New England’s incredible 15-game winning streak over Gang Green dating back to 2018.
