Joann Fabrics, the go-to for generations of tailors and seamstresses, has announced another round of store closures.

The business has marked several stores to be closed soon, according to industry reports.

Are any of the Jo-Ann stores listed as closing in the Delaware-Philadelphia-South Jersey region? Here’s what we know.

Which Jo-Ann stores are closing?

Several published reports noted the closure of several Joann stores, with one in New York and two in Pennsylvania.

The closures come after the craft and fabric company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March of 2024. Joann’s bankruptcy filing listed over $2.4 billion in total debts, citing a slow down in customer spending and at-home crafts since the business’ boom during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Joann location in Ithaca, New York, is reportedly set to close, as are stores in Hermitage and Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Those stores will reportedly close on or about Sunday, January 19, with some closing as early as this week.

Joann has two stores in Delaware, one in Dover and the other in Christiana.

There are 11 stores in New Jersey, and Pennsylvania has 40 locations, including the two slated for closure.

The New York store closing is one of more than 30 locations in the state. Maryland is also losing two of its 15 stores.
