Joe Schoen in, Brian Daboll out? Report raises that New York Giants possibility
General manager Joe Schoen could remain in his job with the New York Giants after Sunday while head coach Brian Daboll could be out. That is the latest speculation/reporting from Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
Russini wrote that co-owner John Mara is expected to make the decision “very soon,” which makes sense since the season ends on Sunday.
Russini wrote that inside the Giants’ building “it seems like most people believe they’ll get more time — specifically the head coaches.”
Per Russini, outside the building is a different story.
“ … there’s a sense from those around the league that moves are coming … The chatter continues to be that Joe Schoen will remain the Giants’ general manager while Brian Daboll will be let go.”
The question with the Giants has been whether or not ownership would split up Schoen and Daboll, who came from the Buffalo Bills during the same 2022 hiring cycle. It won’t be much longer until we find out.
