Karl-Anthony Towns gives confident statement on how he has changed, New York Knicks are benefiting

Karl-Anthony Towns reflected on his journey in the NBA, and how he has evolved over the years, especially after joining the Knicks.

Karl-Anthony Towns joining the Knicks was one of the biggest bombshells of the summer. Towns, who was coming off a Western Conference Finals trip with the Timberwolves, was Eastbound.

Towns had played for the Minnesota Timberwolves for the entirety of his career up to that point. And found a lot of success there as the best player on their team since Kevin Garnett.

But now, going to the Knicks, joining a team ready to contend for the NBA championship, Towns would have to prove himself all over again.

But Towns, no matter how shocked he was by the trade, didn’t show any signs of nerves. He put on the Knicks jersey and began playing very well.

Some believe that he has been even better on the Knicks than he had been with the Timberwolves. While that can be debated, there is no debating how well Towns has played.

For the season, Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 25.1 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. He has been a stand-out star for the Knicks.

And despite a shaky start, the Knicks’ record is starting to reflect Towns’ form. The Knicks are currently 15-9 and fourth in the Eastern Conference.

They also have a chance tonight to reach the NBA Cup semi-finals and go to Las Vegas to fight for another trophy.

Towns reflects on his evolution after joining the Knicks

While speaking to the panel of NBA Today on ESPN, Karl-Anthony Towns was asked what has changed over his years in the NBA. Towns responded in a very blunt fashion.

“I was a boy then. I’m a man now.”

Towns is more confident in himself than he has ever been. And given the way he has been playing, he has all the reason in the world to feel that way. The Knicks are reaping the rewards from his growth.

While the NBA championship is the big goal, Towns and the Knicks will focus on the NBA Cup for the time being.

Winning an in-season tournament can be a massive boost and momentum-builder for a contender. And so, the Knicks should prioritize it.
