Karl-Anthony Towns has just managed what no New York Knicks player has done since 1978
Karl-Anthony Towns continues to impress fans as a member of the New York Knicks.
The New York Knicks seem unstoppable at the moment as they destroyed the Minnesota Timberwolves in their recent matchup.
The Knicks registered a solid 133-107 win over the Timberwolves as the latter had no answer for Karl-Anthony Towns.
On that note, Towns had a historic night and etched his name into the Knicks’ history books.
Karl-Anthony Towns drops back-to-back insane performances
Since getting traded earlier this year, Towns had likely circled his return to Minnesota. KAT didn’t disappoint in his first game as a member of the Knicks against his former team.
The veteran center finished the night with 32 points, 20 rebounds, and 6 assists in a team-high 38 minutes of playing time.
Speaking of Towns’ performance, it was the sixth time in his NBA career that he recorded at least 30 points and 20 rebounds in a game. In addition to that, he became the first Knick since Enes Freedom to put up those numbers.
But that’s not the end of it. Towns also became the first player since Bob McAdoo to score 30+ points and 20+ rebounds in back-to-back games.
McAdoo achieved this feat in 1978. It’s safe to say that the Knicks have won the trade with the Timberwolves.
Towns is leading the Knicks to a terrific season
Following their dominant win over the T-Wolves, the Knicks are now the third seed in the Eastern Conference with a 17-10 record this season.
Previously, the NY fanbase was worried about the team’s chemistry. However, as KAT mentioned, all they needed was to give it some time for the new roster to gel together.
The Knicks are also 7-3 in their last 10 games. With NBA Christmas week approaching, it’s safe to say that the team is heading in the right direction.
