Karl-Anthony Towns says New York Knicks traded for one of the best two-way players in the NBA
The New York Knicks are unstoppable as they extend their winning streak to four games, thanks to incredible two-way star.
New York is always a player-favorite destination to play in the NBA. However, the Knicks have been failing to optimally use that advantage for a decade or so. More recently, this has changed.
They acquired Karl-Anthony Towns in a blockbuster trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves earlier this year and welcomed OG Anunoby to the Big Apple in a deal with the Toronto Raptors last season.
Now, the Knicks are one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, thanks to being active in the trade market.
Karl-Anthony Towns praises OG Anunoby
The Knicks continue to impress this season as they are now on a four-game winning streak after their dominant win over the Charlotte Hornets.
KAT was his usual dominant self, but it was Anunoby’s second-half heroics that truly aided the team in registering a 125-101 win over the Hornets.
Towns praised his teammate during the postgame conference as he hailed Anunoby as one of the best two-way players in the league.
“I think we all know in the locker room the talent OG possesses. I think he is one of the best two-way players in the NBA. Defensively, offensively, he impacts the game,” Towns told the media.
He added: “I’m just glad that he’s getting his moment here, in the Mecca, New York, to show the world the talent that we all see.”
Towns was also asked if he’s surprised about Anunoby making just one All-NBA Defensive team in his career.
To which, the 29-year-old star responded, “He has All-Defensive teams in his future. So, he’ll make it up.”
It’s great to see Towns’ confidence in his teammates as the Knicks climb to the fourth seed in the East with a 14-8 record.
OG Anunoby’s masterclass vs. the Hornets
As a fan, there is hardly anything better than a player entering the zone during a game. Anunoby was in such a zone against the Hornets.
He finished the night with 25 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks in 40 minutes of action. Anunoby was right behind KAT as the team’s second-highest scorer in the game.
Speaking of his performance, Anunoby turned the momentum in his team’s favor during the third quarter where he scored 15 of his 25 points.
On top of that, OG had three huge defensive players that ended the Hornets’ any chance of a comeback. Anunoby had the entire Madison Square Garden chanting his name as the Knicks dominated Charlotte.
