L Train Shoving Update: Suspect Photo Released

BROOKLYN, NY — Police have released a photo of the man they suspect shoved a woman onto the L train tracks at Jefferson Street station in Bushwick on Thursday morning.

Just before 6 a.m. on Thursday, an unknown man asked the woman for a lighter, the NYPD said. Shortly after, an argument ensued and the man punched the victim and then pushed her onto the train tracks of the northbound L train, according to police.

She was rescued and was taken to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center with lacerations and swelling in her left foot, police said. Her condition is stable, NYPD said.

The man fled the scene in an unknown direction, and after reviewing the security camera footage, police say the suspect is a 5’11” man with a slim build and dark complexion last seen wearing a blue du-rag, a gray shirt, gray pants, and white and pink sneakers.

Police ask anyone with information about this incident to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
