Lakers & Celtics Outpaced as .43 Billion Worth Franchise Named Hottest NBA Team in Market, and It’s Not Warriors

35! That’s how many championships the Lakers and Celtics have between them. Sure enough, that makes them the two most accomplished franchises in the league. But, is winning rings enough to be the hottest selling team among fans? Maybe not. As it turns out, there is another franchise that has overtaken the two giants to become the league’s most in-demand team. No, its not Stephen Curry’s Warriors. In fact, it is a team that has not won a title in decades, the New York Knicks.

Yes, according to StubHub, the New York based franchise is currently leading the league with most ticket sales on the website for the upcoming season. Well, this should not come as a very big surprise considering the Knicks have one of the most passionate fanbases in sports and their home court is based in arguably the most popular arena in the world. Sure enough, that also makes them the second highest valued franchise in the league at $7.43 billion, only behind the Warriors who are valued at $8.28 billion.

Moreover, the Knicks finished as the second seed last season and for the first time in years, they look like legitimate title contenders heading into the season. So, its understandable why their tickets are selling like hotcakes. Meanwhile, the reigning champions, Celtics are second on the list as the Knicks are outselling them by 36%. And the Lakers, who topped the list last year, have fallen to the number three spot with the NYC franchise outselling them by 81%.
