Large fuel spill reported on Upper East Side: FDNY

UPPER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (PIX11) – About 100 gallons of fuel spilled on the Upper East Side early Monday morning, according to the FDNY.

It happened near East 67th Street between Third and Lexington Avenues. The NYPD’s 19th Precinct was evacuated as a precaution, according to police.

Firetruck hoses lined the area near the spill, video from Citizen App shows. At least 60 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene, officials said.

No injuries were reported. Clean-up efforts are ongoing, according to the FDNY.

It’s not clear what caused the large fuel spill.
