Lions and Giants end joint practice early after another ’embarrassing’ fight
THE Detroit Lions and New York Giants had to cut another fiery joint-practice short.
Giants QB Daniel Jones was in the thick of a mass brawl Monday.
And his first-round rookie receiver Malik Nabers was involved yesterday, trading punches with Kerby Joseph.
New York running back Devin Singletary ran over to support his teammate and appeared to throw a punch of his own.
Gians beat reporter Pat Leonard was at camp and filled in his followers on events.
“Embarrassing lack of discipline from both teams at the end of today, after both coaches said they wanted to see less of it,” he posted on X.
“Basically had to cut the last period of practice short because of guys on both sides throwing punches, #Lions running over to #Giants sideline. Khalil Dorsey and Kayvon Thibodeaux exchange late blows.”
Most fans were delighted to see so much passion from their team this week.
“I’m totally fine with it. Needed to see some passion,” posted one.
“Pat you’re the only person who thinks this is embarrasing. Giants finally got some dawgs LFG,” added another.

“This is a win for the giants. last year there were no fight and we didn’t look competitive this year they showed heart and intensity,” a third said.
“1 day of it fine, 2 days is embarrassing for both teams,” commented a fourth, who agreed with Leonard’s take.
The teams face each other on the field in their pre-season openers tomorrow in what could be a hot-headed contest.
Jones was only cleared for football days before camp following his return to action from a torn ACL.
But he has not been taking it easy as he looks to justify his mega-money contract.
Giants coach Brian Daboll got upset with Lions defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike for hitting Jones’ arm during a throwing play.

Jones, like all quarterbacks in practice games, was wearing a no-contact red jersey.
In footage widely shared online, Jones appears to shove Lions lineman Alim McNeill, sparking an all-out melee.
“I appreciate [Daboll’s support],” Jones told reporters after practice, via ESPN.
“That’s not something that typically happens in a practice situation.
“But it’s a competitive practice, and guys are going hard.”
“Daniel got jiggy with it. Daniel was out there with it?” Giants edge rusher Brian Burns added after the chaotic scenes.
“Yeah. I’m going to need him to back up. Let his O-line handle that.
“But Daniel, he’s a competitor, man. He’s a fighter.
“So, I don’t expect anything less from him. But I don’t need him in that. I don’t need him to get hit. Keep him healthy.”
