India vs Bangladesh Warm Up Game (Source: ICC)
India will take on Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup warm-up game at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York on June 1. This is the only warm-up game India play before their T20 World Cup opener against Ireland on June 5. India would like to find answers to a few major queries in the warm-up game. The biggest conundrum for Rohit Sharma will be to find an opening pair. Yashasvi Jaiswal is the preferred opening partner for Rohit Sharma, however, he did not have a great IPL. There are calls for Virat Kohli’s promotion as an opener as well. Kohli had a great run as an opener in the IPL and bagged the Orange Cap after scoring over 700 runs.
Rohit will also have to pick one between Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant for the wicketkeeper role. Both Samson and Pant had great returns in the IPL. Pant holds an advantage over Samson due to his previous match-winning performances for team India but Samson has experience of playing in these conditions.
Good News For India Ahead Of India vs Bangladesh Match
The warm-up matches have been hampered by rain with a few key games getting abandoned. Given that India need some game time to get used to the conditions and find the best possible combination, they would want the match to go ahead uninterrupted. In a huge relief, the weather in New York is expected to be clear on June 1. As per Accuweather, there is no threat of rain on the match day. The weather will be pleasant and the temperature will range between 16 to 18 degrees.
After the game against Ireland, India will play Pakistan on June 9, USA on June 12 and Canada On June 15.
