Malik Nabers injury update: Is Giants star wide receiver playing in Week 14? | Sporting News
The New York Giants enter their Week 14 matchup against the New Orleans Saints battered and bruised with injuries, including one to Malik Nabers.
Currently leading all rookies in receiving yards per game while finding himself on a historic pace through his first 10 career games, Nabers has been as advertised when the Giants used the No. 6 overall pick to get him.
In 10 games (nine starts), Nabers has 75 receptions for 740 yards and three touchdowns. Despite missing two games due to a concussion, Nabers ranks fourth among rookie wideouts in receiving yards behind only Brock Bowers (884), Ladd McConkey (815) and Brian Thomas Jr. (765).
While Nabers has been dealing with a groin injury for much of his rookie campaign, it hasn’t kept him off the field. However, he popped up on the injury report following Thursday’s practice with what was labeled as a hip flex injury.
Nabers did not practice Friday and was given a questionable tag on the team’s final injury report.
Here’s the latest update on the injury for the Giants’ star wideout in Week 14:
Malik Nabers injury update
While Nabers is dealing with a “sore hip flexor,” he reportedly has a realistic chance to play against the Saints despite not practicing late in the week, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Rapoport also reported that Nabers “is pushing to go and will warm up to see if it’s possible.”
It sounds far from a guarantee that Nabers will be able to play inn Sunday’s game, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Giants held him out as a precaution considering they hold a 2-10 record and are vying for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
It seems up in the air right now whether Nabers will play, but the Giants will release their list of inactive players at 11:30 a.m. ET ahead of the matchup against the Saints.
