Malik Nabers nominated for Pepsi Rookie of the Week
Nabers’ 90 receptions represent the second-highest total by an NFL player in his first 12 career games, and is only one behind Odell Beckham Jr.’s record of 91 receptions set in 2014.
The No. 6 overall pick needs just two total receptions in the final three games to set a new franchise rookie record, which is currently held jointly by Beckham and Saquon Barkley (2018).
Nabers also finds himself just 15 receptions behind Puka Nacua for the all-time NFL rookie record of 105 receptions, set last season. He could become the fourth rookie receiver in history with 100+ catches, joining Nacua, Jaylen Waddle (104 catches with Miami in 2021) and Anquan Boldin (101 with Arizona in 2003).
With 901 receiving yards on the season, Nabers moved past tight end Jeremy Shockey (894 yards in 2002) into second place on the Giants’ rookie list.
The other players nominated for the Week 15 Pepsi Rookie of the Week include:
- Commanders QB Jayden Daniels – Completed 25 of 31 passes (80.6 percent) for 226 yards and two touchdowns for a 118.5 passer rating; also rushed for 66 yards
