The New York Giants will be without a major offensive weapon in Week 5.
According to head coach Brian Daboll, wide receiver Malik Nabers is out for the team’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Nabers suffered a concussion during Week 4 and has not yet cleared concussion protocol.
Before exiting the Giants Week 4 loss in the fourth quarter, Nabers had made 12 catches for 115 yards. He is now up to 35 catches for 386 yards and three touchdowns on the season and has been a dynamic offensive piece for New York.
Without him, it’s hard to imagine the Giants being a major offensive threat against Seattle. New York is 1-3 and no other wide receiver has exceeded 200 yards on the season. Nabers accounts for nearly half of the Giants’ 881 receiving yards and the team will likely need to lean on running back Devin Singletary to lead the offensive push.
Wan’Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton will look to pick up the slack while Jalin Hyatt will hope to insert himself as an option in Nabers’ absence.
Seattle enters the game with a 3-1 record and will hope to stifle the Giants as it looks to bounce back from a Week 4 loss to the Detroit Lions.
