Matt Miller suggests Giants trade up to top spot in 2025 NFL mock draft for highly coveted QB | Sporting News

The New York Giants are just weeks away from training camp, but some experts are keeping an eye on the 2025 NFL draft.

Even with the draft nine months away, Matt Miller of ESPN believes the Giants should make a big move to address arguably their biggest concern for the future.

In a recent mock draft, Miller suggests the Giants trade up to the No. 1 spot in the draft order so they can take a swing at a potential franchise quarterback.

Originally holding the No. 6 pick in this mock, Miller has the Giants giving up the “No. 6 pick, a 2025 second-rounder, a 2026 first-rounder and a 2027 second-rounder.”

After moving up, the Giants took Georgia quarterback Carson Beck.

“Beck — my QB1 in the class at the moment — is a steady pocket passer with a big arm and great processing speed. And he is primed for a breakout season after throwing 24 touchdown passes and completing 72.4% of his throws in his first season as a starter in 2023,” Miller wrote.

Having the Giants go the quarterback route is one of the most popular choices in these early mock drafts. Depending on how Daniel Jones performs in 2024 will determine where the front office wants to go.

Even if the Giants held onto Jones for the 2025 season, they still might be in the market to draft a quarterback to replace him afterward.

Though, another season that results in the No. 6 pick might mean a different regime taking over.

So much is going to change over the next nine months, but Beck and the Giants are likely to be linked until the draft order comes into focus.
