Michael Strahan opens up on bizarre pre-game routine and reveals witty tricks
MICHAEL Strahan has revealed his in-depth pregame routine from during his NFL career.
Strahan was a legendary New York Giants player and Hall of Fame talent, but he had a hilarious program before games.
Strahan was very particular about his clothes before games, and shared on In Depth with Graham Bensinger that he had a whole routine with his uniform.
“My pregame was cool, I liked it,” Strahan said.
“I had a whole routine of doing stuff. Everything was in an order.
“Get there at a certain time, lay out my uniform, put things on in a certain order at a certain time.
“Everything was perfectly timed out.”
Something Strahan was extra particular about was his socks.
The NFL legend was so particular that he would literally talk to his socks before the game.
“One of my things was I would look at my socks,” Strahan said.

“Not verbally go, ‘hey which foot do you want to be on today?’ Like I didn’t speak out loud to my socks because my teammates would’ve thought I was nuts.
“But I would look at my socks and think ‘hm, which foot would you like today?’ They’d debate sometimes.”
Something else Strahan did was to mess with other players’ pregame routines.
He wanted to get in the opponent’s head, and did that with his picture.
“Then I would get the game program,” Strahan said.
“As the years went on, I even learned myself, football players try to look mean in a game program.
“They try to look so mean. But if you look at somebody in the game program and you hear they may be mean and they look like this (while smiling), a mean person smiling is an insane person.
“So I’d be in the program like doing glamour shots.”
Clearly something worked, because Strahan is one of the greatest defensive players of all time.
In his career he compiled 141.5 sacks and was named to seven Pro Bowls.
Strahan was also named to four All-Pro teams, won Defensive Player of the Year, and won the Super Bowl with the Giants.
He owns the record for most sacks in a single season with 22.5.
