More Big Lots stores closing in NY. Find out where

More New York Big Lots locations are closing and discounts are increasing after the Ohio-based company announced plans to shutter more stores under new leadership after filing for bankruptcy last month.

Two additional stores — one in Binghamton and one in Troy — are closing in New York, according to the company’s website, bringing the current total to 12 stores shutting their doors statewide. The closures are part of a sale agreement with an affiliate of Nexus Capital Management LP, Big Lots announced in a news release last month.

In July, Big Lots announced its plans to close 35 to 40 stores in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, then the number rose to 315 in another filing in August.

Here’s what to know.
