Naomi Osaka was seen posing for a forthcoming Maybelline commercial in New York City on Wednesday. The four-time Grand Slam tennis champion married her athletic style with sporty chic makeup for the commercial shoot.
For the commercial, Osaka wore the slam printed, sleeveless Nike top and tennis skirt in a coordinated shade of midnight navy with white. The tennis star and new mom also carried her Yonex racket. Osaka also wore a pair of Nike sneakers in an ombre colorway, which transitioned from light blue to black.
As for her glam, Osaka’s voluminous curls were styled in a half-up, half-down style with her natural waves flowing in the New York City breeze. Her makeup featured a refined look with bold brows, a pop of red lip and even some subtle blue eye shadow to complement her tennis kit.
Along with her commercial for Maybelline, Osaka has expanded her reaches off the tennis court with a number of endorsements, collaborations and more since her first Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open in 2018. The athlete also boasts past and present deals with Frankies Bikinis, Louis Vuitton and Nike, the athletic brand Osaka favors for tournaments.
In November 2021, Osaka joined VS Collective and opened up about her relationship with her mental health over the years and her business ventures off the tennis court. “I enjoy [the fashion collaborations],” Osaka said on Victoria’s Secret’s podcast.
“Because I feel, like, I grew up playing tennis and there are so many fields that I don’t have that much knowledge of and it’s just interesting to be able to interact with everyone [in retail and beauty] who is, like, at the top of their field.”
Osaka made her return to tennis last January after she welcomed her first child, a daughter named Shai. The four-time Grand Slam champion will return to the U.S. Open, the site of two of Osaka’s four Grand Slam titles, in New York City at the end of August. The final Grand Slam of the season begins Aug. 26 and concludes Sept. 8.
