NBA championship odds: New York Knicks move up with Karl-Antony Towns trade
The New York Knicks are finalizing a major trade involving Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo with the Timberwolves for Karl-Anthony Towns, as first reported by The Athletic.
The trade would involve Randle and DiVincenzo heading to Minnesota in exchange for Towns joining New York. Additionally, New York will be including a 2025 first-round pick in the trade, a significant asset that could potentially shape the future of the Timberwolves.
Karl-Anthony Towns was the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NBA draft and was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He has played his entire career with the Timberwolves and has been named an All-Star four times and an All-NBA selection twice. Throughout his career, he has averaged 22.9 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. If the trade is finalized, it will be a homecoming for Towns, who grew up just outside of New York City.
New York’s odds to win a championship was +900 on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Since the news of the potential trade broke, the Knick’s odds to win the NBA title this season have improved to +700, instilling a sense of hope among the New York fans.
