NBA DFS value plays $5K or under for Sunday’s playoff games
We’ve got two Game 4s Sunday in the 2024 NBA Playoffs with the Knicks and Pacers getting things started in the afternoon before the Nuggets and Timberwolves square off in primetime. There’s so much star power in these matchups but role players have stepped up of late in big ways and could be the difference for DFS managers in their lineups.
In NBA DFS, you can find quality value plays $5K or under that can give you a quick 10 points off the bench, grab some rebounds, or stuff the stat sheet. We are going to provide you with three players that you need to put in your lineup.
T.J. McConnell, Pacers, $4,800
After three strong outings in a row, McConnell finally fell off in Game 3 with just 12.8 fantasy points. That likely stung for managers who were hoping his great play would continue. The backup point guard should bounce back in Game 4, especially if Tyrese Haliburton is limited in any way with his injuries. McConnell had a few duds before his playoff streak and should be backed again despite struggling in the last contest.
Kyle Anderson, Timberwolves, $3,600
There are Timberwolves role players with more upside, like Naz Reid and Nickeil Alexander-Walker. However, Anderson will look to bounce back from a dud in Game 3 after tallying 34.3 fantasy points in Game 2. His minutes were inflated in that contest but he remains a solid rotation piece for Minnesota. The Timberwolves got blasted on the second unit in Game 3, and Anderson will be tasked with balancing that out. I think he has a solid effort in Game 4 tonight.
Alec Burks, Knicks, $3,800
Burks has effectively been forced into the rotation due to New York’s injuries, and he delivered 25.5 fantasy points in Game 3. He’ll be tasked with replicating that effort in Game 4 as the Knicks continue to run a tight rotation. The veteran point guard has plenty of playoff experience and will now get a bit more leeway when it comes to being aggressive offensively. He’s unlikely to explode but he’ll have a decent role in this afternoon’s game.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Nuggets, $4,400
Despite dealing with an injury, Caldwell-Pope finally had a decent showing with 23 fantasy points in 37 minutes of action. He’s officially listed as questionable but should be good to go after retaining his starting role in Game 3. The Nuggets got everyone involved offensively to punch back in this series, and Caldwell-Pope still missed some open shots which would’ve further boosted his fantasy stock. He should be getting similar opportunities in Game 4 with Minnesota focusing on Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. I like him as a value play for DFS managers Sunday.
