NBA stars got involved at SmackDown in New York
I remember being a young fella back in 1997 and being utterly enthralled by Chicago Bulls star Dennis Rodman joining the nWo and DDP answering with Utah Jazz legend Karl Malone. It was way too fun watching the two of them work in a pro wrestling ring.
Fast forward to today and things are a bit different now. We’re still getting NBA stars on WWE television, they just aren’t doing as much as they used to.
Still, they found a fun way to get Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson involved on Friday Night SmackDown at Madison Square Garden this week:
Logan Paul used Haliburton to bring him brass knuckles but Brunson, a big babyface in town, of course, got to play the hero stepping in to stop him. After the match, they teased like we might actually get the two of them throwing down but it never happened.
Imagine how hype it would have been if those two tussled in a WWE ring?!? They’re still getting headlines for this appearance but how much better would it have been if they were throwing down in there?!?
Maybe another time.
Anyway, here are all the videos from SmackDown this week:
