“Never Coming”: NYC Billionaire’s LeBron James Gambit Left Knicks Empty Handed, NBA Legend Speaks Out

LeBron James‘ love for New York Knicks is well documented, as he has spoken about it on multiple occasions. Often, he teased about going to the Mecca of the NBA world. It seems like he even fooled the Billionaire Knicks owner, James Dolan, once with his infamous antics, ‘The Decision’.

In the recent episode of Podcast P with Paul George, ex Knicks star, Zach Randolph made some shocking revelations during James’ move to the Miami Heat in 2010. Speaking with George, Randolph said, “We had a lot of talent on that team… We were balling, we was above 500… they thought Bron (LeBron James) was coming to New York, but Bron was never coming to New York.”

“Then they traded their whole team… they got rid of me, got rid of everybody, we like damn, and we was hooping… they got rid of the whole team,” the ex-Knicks star further confessed. Certainly, this move by Dolan and the team president at that time, Donnie Walsh, backfired big time because LeBron James decided to take his talent to the Miami Heat.

The Knicks certainly left empty-handed after getting rid of players like Jamal Crawford, Mardy Collins, Malik Rose, Stephon Marbury, and Randolph. While the Knicks are still waiting for their first championship since 1973, LeBron won 4 titles, 2 with the Heat. Although the Knicks brought in players like Carmelo Anthony, they still failed to win a championship.

Will LeBron James ever come to New York Knicks?

This Season, Knicks have been plagued by injuries, which undoubtedly prevented them from reaching the Eastern Conference Finals. Before the playoff even began, Julius Randle’s injury put the New York side gasping for air. As the playoffs progressed, many players like OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson, and Mitchell Robinson went down with injuries. Next season, they will certainly emphasize on managing injuries while making some changes to their roster.

Earlier, Stephen A. Smith confessed that the Knicks messed up a chance to sign LeBron. Still, he is pitching the ideas for his beloved team to trade for LeBron James. On Stephen A. Smith Show, the Analyst said, “You want LeBron at the Garden? Give us a couple of first-round picks and a player. If you are the Los Angeles Lakers, you may want to consider it.”

He even teased the idea of changing his mind about the GOAT debate between James and Michael Jordan, if the 4x Champion wins his 5th ring with the Knicks. However, the Knicks certainly need to offload a few stars to get James to the Mecca, which may come at the cost of trading Julius Randle. In the end, it’s worth taking the risk if James can help the Knicks end their championship drought. What do you think Knicks fans? Let us know in the comments.
