New York Fashion Week: what to expect for spring/summer 2025

The biannual month of fashion shows kicks off in New York on Thursday night. Or rather, to be more precise, in the Hamptons, 150km up the road. That is where Ralph Lauren is presenting his latest collection, outside of the main schedule.

What better location? Lauren’s brand is, at heart, an encapsulation of the American dream. The shingle houses and wide beaches of this most storied bit of Long Island are among the threads out of which that dream is woven.

It’s more than 50 years since Lauren first packaged it all up for his customers. He remains peerless at riffing on everything from Gatsby-esque tailoring to posh denim, by way of the kind of nautical chic that is ubiquitous in these environs. Expect more
