New York Giants among top odds for first NFL head coach fired in 2024 | Sporting News

Entering his third season in command, New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll faces a crucial campaign.

Considering no Giants head coach has lasted more than two full seasons since 2016, the seat is already warming for Daboll following a 6-11 campaign.

Just ahead of training camp, Daboll (+900) has the sixth-highest odds to be the first head coach fired in 2024, according to BetOnline.

NFL odds for first head coach fired in 2024

Head coach Odds (via BetOnline)
Robert Saleh +500
Mike McCarthy +600
Matt Eberflus +700
Dennis Allen +700
Nick Sirianni +800
Brian Daboll +900
Antonio Pierce +1000
Todd Bowles +1000
Kevin Stefanski +1000

Simply given the history of the Giants organization over the last decade, it’s up in the air whether Daboll would survive another disaster season.

There is something to be said about the fact that both Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen inherited Daniel Jones at quarterback. However, they did give him a four-year extension worth $160 million.

The Giants need to end the cycle of hiring a new coach every two years so it might behoove them to stick with Daboll unless somehow the team collapses even worse than it did in 2023.

Rebuilding the roster they inherited is a multi-year process, and they are still in the middle of it.

We’ll see what happens once the season starts but if the Giants get off to a slow start, this will be something to monitor.
