New York Giants Draft pick Darius Muasau ready to compete in the Big Apple
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – NFL rookie minicamps are starting up around the league with Hawaii-born draft picks and signees set to join their new organizations.
Mililani graduate and former Hawaii and UCLA linebacker is set to depart for New York this week to join the Giants for rookie minicamp.
The defender was taken by Big Blue in the sixth round of last week’s NFL draft and the former Trojan is still full of excitement since getting the call, but knows the work is just beginning.
“I’m still up here, but I got to bring it down pretty soon and get back to work,” Muasau told Hawaii News Now. “That’s the mindset that I have that I always grew up with.”
Muasau says he’s looking forward to getting with the organization and start competing.
“I’m looking to compete, that’s the way I was built, I was always a competitor at heart,” Muasau said. “So I’m just looking right when I step foot over there, I got a rookie mini camp, I’m just looking to improve myself everyday, you know, just pick the brains of all the vets, all the coaches just trying to be the best version of myself.”
The Giants rookie minicamp is slated to start on May 10th.
