The New York Giants are set to make yet another change at quarterback with injured starter Drew Lock unavailable for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Lock is currently not practicing with the team and wearing a protective boot after suffering a heel injury, head coach Brian Daboll revealed Wednesday, meaning Tommy DeVito will come back in for this weekend’s clash with the Ravens.
DeVito was named starter in the first game of the post-Daniel Jones era against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last month, only to not throw a touchdown and injure his forearm before losing his place after just one start.
He was swiftly replaced as a starter by Lock, who also failed to impress in underwhelming displays against the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints.
A fully-fit DeVito played one snap in last weekend’s defeat to the Saints, drawing cheers from the home crowd as he entered the field to replace Lock at MetLife Stadium.
And now the 26-year-old will get another chance to win Daboll over against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens this Sunday.

It is believed veteran Tim Boyle will step in as backup with Lock out injured.
The Giants were set to stick with Lock as their starting quarterback this weekend if he was healthy, despite his disappointing performances in recent games.
Daboll said Monday that the player was undergoing an MRI for an undisclosed injury but would remain on the starting lineup as long as he’s able to suit up.
‘Drew Lock will start for the Giants against the Ravens if he’s healthy enough, Brian Daboll tells reporters. He’s going through tests,’ Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported on X.
Daboll’s team are on the verge of losing their ninth straight game against Baltimore on Sunday.
Over the weekend, his Giants suffered a heartbreaking defeat at home to the Saints when a potential game-tying field goal from Graham Gano was blocked as the clock expired.
