New York Giants: NFL Analyst Predicts Malik Nabers Will Accomplish This Feat During His Rookie Season – Gridiron Heroics

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers was selected with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of LSU. Nabers has a chance to be a special talent during his rookie season.

The Giants need that juice at the wide receiver position. They have not had a true number one wide receiver since Odell Beckahm Jr. Beckham Jr. was a force from day one in the NFL. He was the last New York Giants wide receiver who was a nightmare for opposing defenses.

Malik Nabers hopes to be one of the top wide receivers in the NFL from the get-go. He will be with the first unit along with Wan’Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton. Jalin Hyatt is another player who will look to get snaps with Nabers this season.  The Giants had one of the worst offenses in the NFL a season ago. With the departure of running back Saquon Barkley, he hopes to be the new star of the Giants offense.

CBS Sports writer Cody Benjamin made a list of several NFL players who could potentially be a Pro Bowl player for the first time this season. One of the players he mentioned was New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers.

Benjamin said:

“The first rookie on the list, Nabers brings much-needed electricity to the Giants‘ offense. Considering the dearth of other top-tier weapons in the lineup, he could receive a mountainous target share from Daniel Jones and Co.”

In 13 games last season with the LSU Tigers, Malik Nabers caught 89 passes for 1,567 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns, along with averaging 17.6 yards per reception. It will be interesting to see how Nabers will replicate those numbers during his rookie season with the New York Giants.

Some of the elite wide receivers in the NFC are CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys, A.J. Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles, and Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings. During the 2014 season, Odell Beckham Jr. played in 12 games and caught 91 passes for 1,305 yards receiving, and 12 touchdowns. He averaged 14.3 yards per catch. Beckham Jr. was targeted 130 times.

Nabers has a chance to break his record if Daniel Jones or whoever is playing quarterback gets him the football. All eyes will be on the potential superstar rookie receiver from Week 1 and on.
