New York Giants offseason on Hard Knocks
Wink Martindale drama
The feud between Giants head coach
Brian Daboll and the team’s former defensive coordinator was well-covered at the beginning of the offseason. While it’s difficult to know what’s true from the reports, hopefully we get to see an inside look at what went down before the Giants eventually parted ways with Martindale.
Trading up for Drake Maye?
One of the bigger storylines throughout the draft surrounding the Giants was their attempt to trade up
to the No. 3 pick in order to select North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye. The New England Patriots entertained offers but wound up taking Maye with the pick anyway. Draft coverage is always fun, and it will be interesting to see how that process went down.
The Brian Burns trade
The Giants made a splash during the offseason
, acquiring edge rusher Brian Burns in a trade with the Carolina Panthers. It’s always fun to see the inner workings of a trade between NFL general managers, and hopefully we get some insight into how that deal came to fruition.
Anything about Daniel Jones
The most polarizing player throughout the fanbase, everyone will be sifting through the scenes of Hard Knocks for any inkling of information about how the Giants truly feel about their starting quarterback. There probably will be droves of social media accounts going frame-by-frame looking for any proof that the team wants to move on.
Darren Waller’s absence
The Giants starting tight end has been absent throughout
the entire offseason as he contemplates retirement. They may not want to divulge too much information depending on his reasons for considering retirement, but it will be interesting to see if we get any insight at all from the offseason access.
