The New York Giants welcome the Dallas Cowboys into MetLife Stadium for week 4’s opener on Thursday Night. The New York Giants are coming off their first win of the year after defeating the Cleveland Browns 21-15, while the Dallas Cowboys have lost their second in a row, most recently a 25-28 loss against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Dallas Cowboys did show fight in their loss, almost coming back and making it game but one thing was for certain during that game. The Dallas Cowboys can NOT stop the run.
The Baltimore Ravens ran for 274 yards against the Cowboys defense, 151 of it by Ravens running back Derrick Henry. Quarterback Lamar Jackson put up 87 yards and back up running back Justice Hill accounted for 33 yards on just 5 carries.
The New York Giants aren’t the Baltimore Ravens but that doesn’t mean they can’t imitate what they did against the Cowboys defense.
Daniel Jones can run the ball efficiently, and our Must Start Running back Devin Singletary is extremely undervalued in fantasy and real life.
Singletary accounted for 65 rushing yards, a touchdown, and 4 receptions for 43 yards. A successful day in the office against a very good Browns Defense.
The former Bill running back now Giant has had flashes of what he can do on the field but has not be given the keys to the car until now under the Giants offense. Getting the bulk of the carries and participating on passing plays, he is finally getting to show what he can do.
Even if the Giants just do half of what the Ravens did against the Cowboys defense that is a good fantasy day for anyone. In a year where quarterbacks are struggling, finding a gem in a running back on a team that had no expectations could be a league winner.
The Giants will need to keep this game close to ensure Singletary getting enough touches. If Daniel Jones can replicate what he did last week, he should be fine. Browns and Cowboys defense are built similar so I can see this end up being a game the Cowboys weren’t expecting.
The Blueprint is there for Head Coach Brian Daboll to sneak a win against a division rival at home. Let’s hope he sticks to it and feeds Singletary the ball
